Recently I got interested in playing around with music, DJing, producing and the whole thing. I've started several years ago, but never got serious with it, but I'm planing to change that now. So that's why all kind of informations, tips and suggestions (what to use etc.) from people who are already "doing music" are highly appreciated. I bought myself a Vestax VCI-100 and it came bundled with Traktor LE - I didn't have a lot of time to play around with it, but it seems to be ok for starters. Our today's gallery features a sexy bikini model named Amber Lancaster. That's what I call a killer body:

- Hottie fight of the day: Kim Kardashian vs. Scarlett Johansson. It's ON!
- Another drunk gets blasted in the face...I'm sure he gonna remember this.

- Inception animals. The first cat is epic. Best expression ever. Oh my god.
- Yet another goalkeeper celebrates too early. That's a pretty crazy goal. Haha.

Having been a dj for 10 years, my advice to you is this... keep the vci away... get a pair of turntables and start mixing on them... it's very important to get ur basics right...vci's make u lazy and u don't learn to beatmatch and do other things... u tend to become a lot more creative as u progress from turntables to cdj's to controllers... there is no shortcut to djing really..i am sorry to say this but kids nowadays think that just because they can mix 2 mp3's using the sync button, they are dj's -- that is just plain disgusting to me...
Read this book -- How to Dj Properly... it will give u an insight into the world of Djing and the history of it... without knowing the history of something, it's hard to appreciate the art.
With production, look into Ableton/Logic/Pro Tools/Reason..invest in a decent soundcard, booth/studio headphones and a midi keyboard. Test out the software before u get a feel...try Fruity loops first though to get a hang of what is involved. |

| Hej. Vestax VCI-100 is quite a good thing - for DJing. I would recommend to go for a Traktor full license (50% off right now), especially w/ the Audio8-Hardware (great interface). If you dislike Traktor, try Serrato scratch (some of my colleges prefer it - my pal is traktor). If you want to go more into the producing site of life, i would recommend NI maschine for a start (like a Software Akai-MPC groovebox), the controller works for traktor as well. if you want more, integrate that setup seemlessly into Abbleton Live and buy another Abbleton-Controller (I'm using the Novation one). Doing this gave me more opportunities than i would actually ever use: Maschine for beats and samples, Abbleton for arrangement&filtering. |

btw: vci 100 is a great piece of gear! Own one myself. You should check out www.djtechtools.com. It's all about digital djing and they created some sick vci mappings for traktor! |
